Simone Thornton was born in South Florida, where she developed a deep appreciation for the nature, art and architecture the region is known for.  Spending time between her family’s tree farm and the small, ocean-side town she was raised in cultivated her reverence for the splashy colors and textures prominent in her work.  She left Florida to earn a BFA in Illustration from MICA in Baltimore, and then spent the next 7 years working as a visual artist and fine art printer in San Francisco.  After a 4 year stretch in Austin, she has spent the last 2 years living and working on a wild piece of land about an hour outside of the city.  She is an interdisciplinary artist and designer, primarily focused on illustration, painting, and screen-printing.
